Floriana still in contention for the title after hard-earned win against Hibs

Floriana stayed in contention for the championship title after defeating Hibernians Veterans 6-4. On the other hand, reigning champions MFPA secured their 11th win of the season after defeating Żurrieq Wolves 10-4 with Rabat and Birkirkara St Helen’s putting on a show after a 3-3 draw.

Floriana – Hibernians 6-4

The match between Floriana FC and Hibernians FC Veterans was certainly a thrilling encounter that will be remembered for its dramatic turn of events. Hibernians showcased their strength during the first half, taking a commanding 3-1 lead into halftime. However, Floriana’s determination shone through in the second half as they made a sensational comeback.

Manolito Micallef was the standout player, netting a remarkable hat-trick that energized his team. His contributions were crucial in shifting the momentum in favor of Floriana. Additionally, goals from Christian Cassar, Malcolm Licari, and Brian Said solidified Floriana’s dominance in the second half, leading to their impressive 6-4 victory.

On the other side, Hibernians didn’t go down without a fight. Beppe Antignolo’s brace, along with goals from Ilia Nazarov and Craig Schembri, highlighted their offensive capabilities despite the defeat.

In an astonishing display of offensive prowess, Malta Football Players Association triumphed against Zurrieq Wolves Veteranswith a commanding 10-4 victory in the last match of Matchday 18. Gareth Sciberras and George Frendo were instrumental in this stunning performance, each netting a hat-trick that showcased their exceptional skills and clinical finishing abilities.

Julian Galea also had an impactful game, contributing with two goals of his own, while Stephen Wellman and Michael Galea each added one goal to the scoreline, rounding out an impressive team effort for MFPA.

Despite the defeat, Zurrieq put up a spirited fight, managing to score four times by Kevin Vella (2) and Clarence Thompson (2) but they ultimately couldn’t keep pace with the relentless attack of Mfpa.

Gżira and Floriana keep pushing for the title

Gżira United FC Veterans secured a solid 5-2 victory over Rabat Veterans, allowing them to maintain their position at the top of the Veterans League standings.

The standout player of the match was Daniel Bueno, who netted two goals, showcasing his prolific scoring ability. Pio Sciriha, Sebastian Nayar, and Ian Zammit also contributed to the scoreboard, each adding one goal to Gzira’s tally.

For Rabat, Andre Scicluna and Timothy Zammit managed to score, but their efforts fell short against Gzira’s dominant performance. This victory not only reinforces Gzira United’s status as league leaders but also emphasizes their strong attacking capabilities as they continue their campaign in the league!

Floriana FC secured an impressive 6-1 victory over a strong Birkirkara Saint Helen Veterans FC side. The match saw standout performances from Christian Cassar, Manolito Micallef, and Glenn Bonello, who each scored two goals, demonstrating their offensive prowess. Despite the lopsided scoreline, Birkirkara managed to find the back of the net with a goal from Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza, but it was not enough to compete with Floriana’s relentless attack. This victory solidifies Floriana’s ambitions as they continue their quest for dominance in the league.

In a thrilling encounter, Malta Football Players Association triumphed over Hibernians FC Veterans with an astounding score of 13-5.

The champions demonstrated their offensive firepower, as Michael Galea, Julian Galea, and George Frendo each netted a remarkable hat trick, contributing significantly to the team’s total. Aleksander Ribic added two goals, while Mark Barbara and Carlo Mamo each chipped in with one, rounding out a spectacular performance by MFPA.

On the other side, despite the heavy defeat, Hibernians put up a commendable effort with Malcolm Camilleri scoring two goals. Ilia Nazarov, Adrian Lanzon, and Beppe Antignolo each found the net as well, but the team’s defense struggled to contain the relentless attack from MFPA. This high-scoring match highlighted the offensive capabilities of both teams, but ultimately, MFPA’s dominance propelled them to a decisive victory.

Gżira United Veterans keep consistency

Gżira United Veterans continued their consistency in the VMFA Cisk Premier League as they defeated the champions MFPA 6-2.

The Maroons were very good throughout this match and it was no surprise that they took the final three points.

Sebastian Nayar and Justin Grioli scored a brace each while Kevin Sammut and Kurt Maxi Magro added more goals for their team.

Mark Barbara and Manuel Sevasta scored the goals for the Malta Football Players Association.

Floriana are one point behind their rivals after defeating Żurrieq Wolves 4-2.

Gianluca Calabretta showed his qualities when he scored a personal brace while Christian Cassar and Renato Conceicao added more goals for the Greens.

The Wolves had Clarence Thompson and Kevin Vella who reduced the scoring margin.

Hibernians secured their fourth win of the season after defeating Rabat Veterans 5-4.

Beppe Antignolo inspired the Paolites with a hat-trick while Clayton Micallef and David Azzopardi also found the net.

Andre Scicluna scored twice while Adam Smeir and Ibrahim Tarek continued to provide hope for the Magpies.

Gżira United keep first place

Gżira United maintained their top spot in the VMFA Cisk Premier League table as they defeated Hibernians 6-2. At the same time, they started the third round in the best possible way.

This was the 13th win from 15 matches for the Maroons who were in control of the game for much of the time.

Argentine player Sebastian Nayar scored a hat-trick while Jonathan Pearson, Kevin Sammut and Daniel Mariano Bueno also got their names on the scoresheet.

Ilia Nazarov and Adrian Lanzon scored for the Paolites.

Floriana continued to trail their opponents after a 3-0 scoreline against Żejtun Red Stars.


Champions MFPA returned to winning ways after defeating Rabat Veterans 7-3.Manuel Sevasta and Stephen Wellman scored a brace each with Mark Barbara, Luke Cauchi and Aleksandar Ribic adding to their team’s tally.

Ibrahim Tarek, Joseph Caruana and Adam Smeir scored the consolation goals for Rabat Veterans.

Birkirkara St Helen’s secured a comfortable 5-3 win against Żurrieq Wolves.

It was a game between two teams that were under no pressure and therefore the encounter was an enjoyable one.

Colombian striker Federico Marine scored a hat-trick with Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Firas Aboulezz also getting their names in the scorers’ book.

Kevin Vella, David Farrugia and Beppe Muscat scored for Żurrieq Wolves.

Gżira United maintain top position after difficult win

Gżira United maintained their first place in the VMFA Cisk Premier League although they had to sweat hard to beat a mighty Birkirkara St Helen’s side. On the other hand, Floriana are still one point behind the Maroons after a 10-2 rout against champions MFPA.

Gżira United – Birkirkara St Helen’s 5-2

Gzira United FC Veterans secured a solid 5-2 win against Birkirkara Saint Helen Veterans FC. Ian Zammit was instrumental for Gzira, scoring two goals, while Sebastian Nayar, Daniel Bueno, and Kevin Sammut also found the back of the net. Birkirkara managed to respond with goals from Ayrton Buhagiar and Federico Marine, but ultimately fell short in this high-scoring encounter.

Floriana – MFPA 10-2

Floriana FC stunned the reigning champions Malta Football Players Association with a spectacular 10-2 victory.

Christian Cassar shone brightly for the greens, netting five goals, and Manolito Micallef added a brace. The scoring was rounded out by goals from Gilbert Scerri, Emerson Amaira, and Trevor Cilia.

MFPA managed to respond with goals from Stephen Wellman and Mark Barbara, but it was not nearly enough to keep pace with Floriana’s attacking prowess.

Rabat Veterans – Zurrieq Wolves 8-1

Rabat Veterans achieved a resounding 8-1 victory over Zurrieq Wolves Veterans highlighted by an outstanding performance from Andre Scicluna, who scored four goals. Adam Smeir was also in fine form, contributing a hat-trick of his own, while Ibrahim Tarek completed the rout with an additional goal. For Zurrieq, Christian Bezzina managed to score the lone consolation goal.

Gzira United maintain first place

Gzira United maintained the first place of the VMFA Cisk Premier League after beating Żurrieq Wolves 7-4.

It was a game which the Maroons controlled from start to finish although the Wolves always kept doing their best to keep up with the pace of their opponents.

Ian Zammit and Justin Grioli scored three goals each while Jonathan Pearson added another goal for his team.

Żurrieq had Kevin Vella scoring a double while Brian Axisa and Bjorn Bondin got their names on the scorers’ list.

Floriana still trail the Maroons by a point as they narrowly defeated Rabat Veterans 6-5.

It was an uncertain game until the end with Rabat giving their best although on the day it was not enough.

Christian Cassar was the star of the day for the Greens when he scored three goals with Manolito Micallef, Glenn Bonello and Gilbert Scerri adding more goals for their team.

The league’s top scorer Adam Smeir and Gilbert Camilleri scored a double each with Andre Scicluna keeping hope alive for Rabat.

Hibernians got their second win of the season after beating Birkirkara 7-5 in another very interesting match.

Beppe Antignolo scored a hat-trick for the Paolites while Adrian Lanzon, Clayton Micallef, Steve Bonnici and Ilia Nazarov also found the net.

Luke Satariano scored a double for the Stripes with Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza, Ronnie Hartvig and Bojan Kaljevic adding to their tally.

MFPA had a walk-over against Żejtun Red Stars.

Gżira United climb first after winning direct clash

Gzira United Veterans climbed first in the VMFA Cisk Premier League standings after beating Floriana 2-1 in a highly anticipated game.

Gzira came out very well where they started to create several attacks with Floriana’s goalkeeper Justin Spiteri who saved several balls. They even hit the post through Ian Zammit before Kevin Sammut put them in the lead and a few minutes later, Sebastian Nayar made it 2-0 with a low shot.

In the second half, Floriana tried to show a reaction and had a goal disallowed by Manolito Micallef. Towards the end they reduced the scoring margin through Gilbert Scerri.

In an entertaining match, champions MFPA and Birkirkara St Helen’s ended their clash in a 4-4 draw.

Robert Perkins scored two goals for the Stripes with Firas Aboulezz and Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza adding more goals for their team.

The Malta Football Players Association had George Frendo scoring a double with Julian Galea and Aleksandar Ribic among the scorers.

Rabat Veterans had a dominant performance over Zejtun Red Stars so much so that they beat them 11-0.

Adam Smeir was an inspiration when he scored no less than six goals so that Ibrahim Tarek and Leandros Calleja notched a brace with Joseph Caruana closing the match.

Żurrieq Wolves got their fourth win of the season after beating Hibernians Veterans 3-2.

Alexei Saliba was the star for the Wolves when he scored twice while Kevin Vella also found the back of the net.

Craig Schembri and Beppe Antignolo scored the Paolites’ goals.

Maltese Veterans achieve great victory against TSOF 2012 Athens

The Maltese Veterans achieved a 6-1 scoreline against the Greeks side TSOF 2012 Athens in an international friendly match that was played at the Mellieħa stadium.

The team led by Joe Micallef was already 5-1 up by the end of the first half while in the second half they were able to control the result while scoring another goal.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza was inspirational for the Maltese as he netted a poker while Malcolm Camilleri and Kevin Sammut added more goals for their team.

Malta started with this formation:

The next commitment of the Maltese Veterans will be on Saturday 12th April next as they face Internacional de Cartagena Veteranos of Spain at the Charles Abela Stadium in Mosta.

Manolito Micallef inspires Floriana to big victory

Manolito Micallef was inspirational for Floriana Veterans as they saw off Hibernians with a mammoth 8-0 scoreline in a VMFA Cisk Premier League game.

Micallef scored four goals with Glenn Bonello, Brian Said, Emerson Amaira and an own goal that sealed Furian’s dominance.

With this victory, Floriana remained in first place in the table and have a two-point advantage over their closest rivals Gzira United Veterans.

Gzira United Veterans kept up the pace in the upper part of the table after a good 4-2 win against Zejtun Red Stars. The Maroons were losing 1-0 but they knew how to turn the result in their favour to take three important points.

Justin Grioli was the star for Gżira when he scored a hat-trick while Daniel Mariano Bueno secured the victory for his team with another goal.

Żejtun Red Stars had Charlo Magro netting a personal brace.

In third place is Birkirkara St Helen’s who beat Rabat Veterans 7-3.

As the score indicates, it was a game full of goals and offensive actions from both sides although the Stripes had something better than their opponents.

Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza and Christian Caruana scored two goals each with Firas Aboulezz, Ayrton Buhagiar and Federico Marine adding the score for their team.

Rabat had Adam Smeir, Timothy Zammit and Gilbert Camilleri who found the net.

Malta Veterans to play international friendly against TSOF 2012 Athens

The Malta Veterans led by coach Joe Micallef will play an international friendly game when this Saturday they face Greeks side TSOF 2012 Athens at the Mellieħa Ground.

This will be the second international game for the Maltese veterans in the year 2025 after they beat Schilwolde of the Netherlands 11-1 last January.
