VMFA Selection win Step Up for Parkinson’s Charity Tournament

The Veterans Football Association Selection led by coach Joe Micallef managed to win the Step Up for Parkinson’s Charity Tournament held at the Centenary Stadium in Ta’ Qali.

The Veterans were paired in group B with MFPA, IASC and GIDA representatives as they managed to record two wins and a defeat.

They started their commitments with a 2-0 win over MFPA with George Frendo and Ian Zammit on target. In the second match they had to succumb to a 5-2 defeat against IASC with Daniel Cremona and Alan Tabone netting VMFA’s two goals.

In the decisive match, VMFA managed to gain qualification for the semifinals as they saw off GIDA 6-2. Firas Aboulezz and Daniel Cremona scored a brace while George Frendo and Ian Zammit also found the back of the net.

In the semifinals, VMFA had a commanding display against MAFA’s Buġibba Club de SWAT as they won 4-0 with Ian Zammit on song after netting a hat-trick and Claudio Calleja adding to their tally.

In the final match, VMFA met IASC again and this time there was some sweet revenge as they edged them 2-1. Firas Aboulezz and Jonathan Pearson were VMFA’s scorers.

At the end of the contest, Project Manager for Step Up for Parkinson’s Adrian Casha presented the cup to VMFA’s captain Mario Muscat.

Three teams on top of the VMFA Cisk Premier League

Three teams are occupying the first place of the VMFA Cisk Premier League as another round of matches was played at the St Dorothy’s Ground in Żebbuġ.

Rabat Veterans kept on marching on with an important 4-2 victory over Zurrieq Wolves. Once again Adam Smeir was the hero for the Magpies as he netted a hat-trick and Kevin Loughborough scored the other goal. Roderick Caruana scored twice for Zurrieq.

Żejtun Red Stars Veterans stunned Gzira United FC Veterans with an impressive display beating them 5-4 and gave Gzira their first defeat of the season.

Eric Saliba was on top of his game and scored a poker for the Red Stars with Jamie Pace netting an own goal

For Gzira, Ian Zammit scored twice with Anthony Ewurum and Gilbert Camilleri Lowell also put their names on the score sheet.

Birkirkara Saint Helen Veterans FC also joined Gżira and Rabat on top as they dominated Luxol St Andrews Veterans to beat them 6-1.

Daniel Cremona scored a hat trick for the Stripes, a brace from Kevin Sammut and the other goal came from Claudio Calleja. Luke Satariano scored the only goal for Luxol.

Hibernians FC Veterans won the game against champions Malta Football Players Association with a solid result of 6-2. They are now on the nine-point mark in the table.

Leandros Calleja scored twice for the Paolites with the other 4 goals coming from Alistair Gauci, Ilia Nazarov, Stefan Cauchi and Adrian Lanzon.

Jonathan Bondin netted a brace for MFPA.

Gżira United seek maximum points from clash with Żejtun Red Stars

VMFA Cisk Premier League leaders Gżira United are expected to take the three points at stake as they meet Żejtun Red Stars as another round of matches will be played at the St Dorothy’s Ground.

The Maroons were held to a 5-5 draw against a mighty Luxol team in a nail-biting affair. After being 5-2 down, they made a late rally to salvage a point and preserve their unbeaten status.

Their opponents are Żejtun Red Stars who are finding the going tough during this season as they only registered one win and have already three defeats. They are coming from a bitter 4-1 defeat against Rabat Veterans.

Second-placed Rabat Veterans are ready to maintain their good form of late as they meet Żurrieq Wolves. The latter have still to gain the first points as they were beaten four times.

Rabat are having a very positive season as they are coming from a smart 4-1 win over Żejtun Red Stars. Their strikers Adam Smeir and Darren Galea are making all the difference as they are scoring vital goals for their team.

Tomorrow, Hibernians face champions MFPA in a match which is expected to be a balanced one. The Malta Football Players Association are lacking the flair they had last season as till now they have registered one win, one defeat and two draws. They need to raise their game and try to go for the three points.

On the other hand, the Paolites are improving after a difficult start and are coming from a good win against Żurrieq Wolves. They will surely try to be a tough nut to crack for the champions.

Match Day 5 of the VMFA Cisk Premier League ends with a top clash between Luxol and Birkirkara St Helen’s.

Luxol were second away from getting another three points in their match against Gżira United but were reached at the death by a last gasp goal. During this season they are performing really well and this is being noticed in the results they are obtaining.

Birkirkara St Helen’s also have the same number of points like Luxol and Rabat Veterans and will be all out to get the most important three points at stake.

Gżira United keep top spot after dramatic draw

Gżira United kept the top spot of the VMFA Cisk Premier League as they salvage a point in their 5-5 scoreline against Luxol.

It was a well-balanced encounter with both teams alternating the advantage but with Luxol who eventually established a 5-2 score to get temporarily the upperhand. The Maroons adopted a never-say-die attitude to eventually preserve their unbeaten record.

Ian Zammit netted a brace while Ryan Fenech, Gilbert Camilleri Lowell and Lydon Micallef were also on target for Gżira.

Luxol had Mauro Camoranesi and Luke Satariano helping themselves with a brace while Michael Galea also added to their tally.

Rabat Veterans are also on song as they beat Zejtun Red Stars Veterans 4-1 to continue their positive run and secure a second successive win.

Adam Smeir and Ibrahim Tarek were inspirational for the Black and Whites as they scored a brace with Żejtun scoring the consolation goal through Etienne Bonnici.

Hibernians FC Veterans managed a fine 2-0 victory against Zurrieq Wolves. Thomas Caruana was the hero for the Paolites as he scored twice late in the second half to secure their second win of the season.

Malta Football Players Association shared the spoils with Birkirkara Saint Helen Veterans FC. The scorers for MFPA were Roderick Bajada who scored twice and Jonathan Bondin with another while for Bkara Claudio Calleja scored 2 goals and the other goal came from Joseph Chetcuti. Tha match ended 3-3.

In-form Gżira United face Luxol in most awaited encounter from MD4

Gżira United face Luxol in the most awaited encounter of the fourth round of matches from the VMFA Cisk Premier League.

The Maroons have till now a hundred per cent record as they obtained three wins out of three and are adamant to maintain this positive streak. The league’s top scorer Ian Zammit is being ispirational for the Gżira side as he already netted eight goals during this season.

Luxol want to return to winning ways as in the last match they were defeated 5-4 by Rabat Veterans. They are ready to face the challenge and try to break Gżira’s heart by obtaining the all important three points.

Even champions MFPA hope to return to winning ways as they face an in-form Birkirkara St Helen’s. The latter had a mixture of results as after winning 7-2 against Rabat, they lost 10-3 against Gżira but were quick to win 6-3 against Hibernians.

MFPA have four points after a win and a draw. They need to cancel the last result against Gżira from their minds and focus to get the full points from this encounter.

Rabat Veterans want to emulate what they’ve done against Luxol as they now meet Żejtun Red Stars. The latter managed to get the first three points of the campaign after losing the first two matches.

Adam Smeir and Darren Galea are on song for Rabat with the Żejtun rearguard who has to stay aware of this lethal duo.

Żurrieq Wolves have the chance to get the first points of the season as they cross swords against Hibernians FC. The Wolves have lost all three encounters played so far although in some matches they have really tried their best.

Hibernians obtained their first three points of the campaign on match day 2 as they saw off Żejtun Red Stars 4-2.

Gżira United obtained their third consecutive win in the VMFA Cisk Premier League as they saw off champions MFPA 8-5.

The Maroons were in a class of their own as they went on aggressive mode with the Malta Football Players Association that couldn’t do too much to avoid their first defeat of the season.

Ian Zammit strengthened his position on the top scorers list as he also clinched a hat-trick with Alex Muscat and Anthony Ewurum also notching a brace. Arthur Oyama was also on the score sheet for Gżira.

MFPA scored through a hat-trick by Roderick Bajada and a double by Thomas Paris.

Rabat Veterans stunned Luxol as they edged them 5-4.

Darren Galea was inspirational for Rabat as he netted a hat-trick with Adam Smeir notching a brace.

Luxol had Michael Galea hitting the target three times with Ronnie Hartving adding another one.

Birkirkara St Helen’s returned to winning ways after beating Hibernians Veterans 6-3. The latter were suffering their second defeat of the season after winning their first three points against Żejtun Red Stars.

Robert Perkins, Joseph Chetcuti, Kevin Sammut, Andy Portelli, Claudio Calleja and Garrett Magri put their names on the score sheet for Birkirkara while the Paolites reduced the arrears through a double by Alan Tabone and another goal by Adrian Lanzon.

Żejtun Red Stars obtained their first win of the season after beating Żurrieq Wolves 6-4.

Nikolay Filipov was the hero for Żejtun as he scored a poker with Mark Ellul and Richard Galea also on target.

Żurrieq Wolves replied through a double by Elton Silva and goals from Bjorn Bondin and Clarence Thompson.

Gżira United meet MFPA for the second time this season

Gżira United hope to register the third consecutive win as they cross swords with MFPA in a replay of the Super Cup played last month.

In that match, the Maroons managed to impose themselves 10-4 in a very entertaining encounter.

Former Maltese international Andrew Cohen notched a poker with Alex Muscat hitting a treble. Dino Cachia, Gilbert Camilleri Lowell and Arthur Oyama completed the score for the Maroons.

For MFPA, Aleksandar Ribic was three times on target with Jonathan Bondin adding to their tally.

This time, MFPA are ready to bounce back especially after their disappointing 4-4 draw against Rabat.

Even Luxol St Andrew’s want to keep their perfect record as they face Rabat Veterans. The latter managed to make amends of their initial loss against Birkirkara St Helen’s by holding the champions to a 4-4 draw.

Luxol have good potential players that can make the difference with Mauro Camoranesi who has already scored two goals this season.

Hibernians meet Birkirkara St Helen’s in a very interesting encounter. The Paolites managed to grab their first three points of the season after a 4-2 win over Żejtun Red Stars.

On the other hand, Birkirkara are coming from a tough 10-3 defeat against Gżira United in a very difficult match.

Despite all this, the match can go either way as both clubs possess some good experienced players that can make all the difference.

In the battle of the basement, Żurrieq Wolves meet Żejtun Red Stars. Both teams have lost their first two matches and are ready to get the most important two points.

Maybe Żejtun are the disappointing lot till now. Until last year, they were challenging for the title but during this season, they still didn’t manage to gain ground.

Luxol and Gżira maintain perfect patch

Luxol and Gżira United maintained their perfect patch in the VMFA Cisk Premier League as they won their respective encounters.

Luxol St Andrews Veterans had the perfect game as they won 5-0 against Zurrieq Wolves Veterans. Michael Borg Olivier, Mauro Camoranesi, Michael Galea, Luke Satariano and Paul Murphy scored a goal each for Luxol.

Gzira United FC Veterans dominated Birkirkara Saint Helen Veterans FC in today’s first match with a final score of 10-3. Ian Zammit scored a poker while Alex Muscat scored a hat trick. Jamie Pace, Jonathan Pearson and Dino Cachia scored a goal each.

Champions Malta Football Players Association found Rabat Veterans tough to beat and they ended up 4-4 in a hard fought match. Alexander Ribic scored a hat trick and Branko Nisevic scored the other goal for MFPA. Rabat’s Adam Smeir scored twice with the other goals came from Timothy Zammit and Dylan Falzon

Hibernians FC Veterans won an exciting match against Zejtun Red Stars Veterans by the score of 4-2. Mauro Brincat opened the score in the second half, Zejtun Replied with two goals by Pierre Spiteri and David Camilleri. Hibernians managed to turn the score to their favour with a hat trick from Leandros Calleja to finish the game 4-2.

Birkirkara St Helen’s face Gżira United in most awaited encounter

Birkirkara St Helen’s and Gżira United Veterans cross swords in the most awaited encounter from Match Day 2 of the VMFA CISK Premier League.

Both clubs have registered the first three points of the season. The Stripes obtained a handsome 7-2 win over Rabat Veterans while Gżira clinched a hard-earned win over Hibernians.

Both clubs possess some good quality players which will make the encounter a very entertaining one.

Meanwhile champions MFPA have a delicate encounter against Rabat Veterans. The latter want to make amends after their 5-3 defeat against Birkirkara and would like to resume the consistency shown in the last part of the past season.

MFPA have retained most of the players who won the league last year and are coming from a smart 3-1 win over Żurrieq Wolves.

In-form Luxol are favourites to get the most important three points as they meet Żurrieq Wolves. The team from St Andrew’s was in fabolous form in their first encounter against Żejtun Red Stars as they won 6-1 with their latest acquisition Mauro German Camoranesi in fine form as he propelled his team to victory.

Żurrieq will concentrate on the defensive aspect although they will operate on the counter with their prolific striker Clarence Thomson ready to threaten the MFPA’s defence.

Hibernians face Żejtun Red Stars in a match between two teams who lost their first encounter. Without doubt, this is seen as a well-balanced match with both sides who can win this encounter.

Mauro Camoranesi inspires Luxol to victory

Former Italy international and world-cup champion Mauro German Camoranesi was the main protagonist for Luxol had a positive debut as he inspired his team to a 6-1 win over Żejtun Red Stars in the first round of matches from the VMFA Hyundai Premier League.

Camoranesi scored a goal and some assists on his name with Michael Galea and Michael Borg Olivier netting a brace apiece and with Luke Satariano adding to their tally.

Żejtun Red Stars scored their only goal from another high profile name Luciano Zauri.

Champions MFPA started brightly their 2023/24 campaign as they saw off Żurrieq Wolves 3-1.

Roderick Bajada was inspirational for the MFPA as he scored a brace with Mark Barbara scoring his team’s third goal.

Żurrieq reduced the arrears through Clarence Thompson.

Title contenders Gżira United beat debutants Hibernians 5-3.

Arthur Oyama and Trevor Cilia netted a brace with Ian Zammit also on the score sheet for the Maroons.

Mauro Brincat, Renato Conceicao and Alan Tabone were Hibernians’ scorers.

Birkirkara St Helen’s obtained a massive 7-2 win over Rabat. Robert Perkins, Malcolm Bugeja and Joseph Chetucti had a double on their name with Gibert Scerri completing the score for his team.

Adam Smeir and Timothy Zammit were Rabat’s only scorers.
