MFPA and Floriana continue winning streaks in VMFA Malta Premier League

MFPA and Floriana kept their winning momentum going as they overcame their respective opponents to remain in contention for the VMFA Malta Premier League title.

MFPA edged past Birkirkara St Helen’s 8-3, giving them a one-point lead over Floriana. George Frendo starred for MFPA with a hat-trick, while Stanimir Miloskovic and Mark Zammit both scored twice. Branko Nisevic also contributed to the scoring. For Birkirkara, Mark Gauci, Malcolm Camilleri, and Jean Pierre Mifsud Triganza found the net. The match was refereed by Paul Apap.

Floriana faced a tougher challenge against Luxol but eventually secured an 8-6 victory. Luxol fought hard throughout the match but came up short. Ryan Darmanin and Bojan Kaljevic each scored a hat-trick for Floriana, while Manolito Micallef added a brace. Luxol’s goals came from Glenn Bonello, who scored twice, Alan Tabone, Gary Inguanez, Karl Sacco, and an own goal by Micallef. The referee was Lorry Sammut.

Gżira United defeated Żurrieq Wolves 2-1. Romeu Romao and Ian Zammit scored for the Maroons, while Mario Camilleri reduced the deficit for Żurrieq. Lorry Sammut officiated the match.

In a high-scoring encounter, Rabat Veterans continued their strong run with a 14-4 win over Hibernians. Adam Smeir scored five goals, Timothy Zammit added four, and Daniel Cremona completed a hat-trick. Andre Scicluna scored twice for Hibernians. The game was refereed by Paul Apap.
