MFPA back on top

MFPA returned to the top of the Malta Veterans Premier League standings after defeating Rabat 11–5 in the only match played at the St Dorothy’s Ground in Żebbuġ.

The Malta Football Players Association approached the match determined to secure all three points, allowing them to overtake rivals Floriana ahead of their direct title clash later this month.

Top league scorer Stanimir Milokovic, together with Mark Zammit, netted four goals each. Manuel Sevasta, George Frendo and Alexander Ribic also got on the scoresheet to seal an emphatic victory for their side.

For Rabat, Adam Smeir and Mark Spiteri both scored braces, while Dylan Falzon added another goal to reduce the deficit.

The referee for the match was Lorry Sammut.
