Floriana have taken over first place in the Malta Veterans Premier League following a dominant 9-1 victory against Żurrieq Wolves.
The Greens were determined to secure all three points and move clear at the top of the standings, even though they still have a game more over their closest rivals, MFPA. Bojan Kaljevic and Manolito Micallef both scored hat-tricks, while Firas Aboulezz added a brace. Ryan Darmanin also contributed a goal for Floriana. Żurrieq Wolves’ only goal came from Bjorn Bondin. The match was officiated by Thomas Debono.
With this win, the battle for the top spot continues, as Floriana and MFPA are set to face each other in a decisive match on April 23.
