Four teams booked a place for the semifinals of the David Cluett Memorial Cup organized by the Malta Veterans Association.
In the quarters finals played between Wednesday and Thursday, Gżira United surprised all odds as they ousted league leaders Żejtun Red Stars winning 9-1.

Even Żurrieq Wolves had a positive outing after a 3-0 victory over the more-quoted MFPA. Rabat Veterans saw off Luxol St Andrews 6-1 while Birkirkara St Helens confirmed their good form of late as they beat Pieta’ Hotspurs 7-3.
Meanwhile all proceeds from this competition will go to the Malta Community Chest Fund. For this occasion, Dr George Vella, the Maltese president kicked off this competition together with VMA president Malcolm Camilleri and Carlos Cluett, the brother of the late David Cluett.

In a brief speech, Dr George Vella praised this initiative and thanked the Malta Veterans Association for their contribution toward the MCCF.
